Hannah, High School Internship – Fashion and Journalism

Hannah is the Author of Playing with Matches and the Dating Editor at Elite Daily.

When Hannah was a junior at Needham High we placed her on two part-time internships relating to her dual interests: a fashion internship for Boston Designer Daniela Corte and a journalism internship with 3 Harvard grads, the Founders of Her Campus, an online magazine for college women. Hannah was always poised, diligent and appreciative of these opportunities.

She went on to NYU where she studied journalism and history, becoming the assistant features editor at Seventeen Magazine. She has written for Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire and is the dating editor of Elite Daily. We are excited for Hannah as she received accolades for her first novel, named “A Best Book of Summer” by Refinery 29, Bustle, and Pop Sugar.

Hannah’s Career Path– NYU, Editorial intern at Cosmopolitan, Assistant Features Editor at Seventeen Magazine.

In high school, Hannah was passionate about writing and fashion. We searched for the right internships that would combine her interests and talents and matched her to two opportunities: Daniela Corte, the hottest designer in Boston, as well as the Founders of Her Campus.

Hannah interned at the Newbury Street studio where she learned all aspects of running a fashion business. Her responsibilities included contacting high-end boutiques across the country, greeting clients and fashion editors, making travel arrangements, blogging about fashion and products and working on photo shoots.

Not only did Hannah learn what goes on behind the scenes, she learned what it takes to be a professional. “Because I’m representing Daniela, I must be professional, knowledgeable, organized and responsible. It’s important to embody the vibe of her company. Seeing how she interacts with customers and industry insiders has given me a whole new outlook on how I need to present myself…I can actually see myself growing and learning.”

During her second internship with the founders of Her Campus, Hannah was exposed not only to journalism, but to the startup world and all that is entailed with starting a new online platform for college women. It ‘s extremely gratifying to see that Hannah now has a stellar journalism career based in New York City.
